    Default Sn0wbreeze Question

Could I use sn0wbreeze 2.0 to jailbreak an iPhone 3g already on stock fw 4.1? I'm thinking of using shift+restore to a custom 4.1 fw. Will this work?

If you are looking to unlock, since you are already on 4.1 you won't be able to unlock (for now at least - the unlock should be available soon).

If you just want to jailbreak, use redsn0w 0.9.6b1.

I'm not worried about unlocking right now. Especially since ultrasn0w is set to be released Sunday. What about redsn0w 0.9.6b4? I already have it downloaded. Would my sn0wbreeze fw not work or is redsn0w 0.9.6b(x) more reliable?

Redsn0w 0.9.6b4 is meant to jailbreak 4.2.1. I'm not quite sure if it will work on 4.1. Back when I had my 3G, I used redsn0w 0.9.6b2 and it worked like magic. I would recommend going the redsn0w route since it would be pointless to use sn0wbreeze to preserve your already-5.14.02-baseband.

I used 0.9.6b3 for someone's iPhone 3G I think. Either that or b2. Try them and see.
