2G: No signal & Restore needed message
Hi,
every time before the upgrades, jailbreaks and unlocks worked smoothly.
However, this time after upgrading my 2G from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 something must have gone wrong. Basically what I did was:
I restored to 3.1.3, jailbreaked with redsn0w 0.9.4 but used the 3.1.2 ipsw.
But now I always get the "Restore needed. Iphone cannot make or receive calls.." msg and the display also shows "no signal". Some times I have signal for a little while but only until the next call or data transfer.
As it hasn't fallen down since I would exclude a hardware defect.
My baseband is 04.05.04_G.
I already tried a couple of times going back to 3.1.2 and 3.1.3, also with custom made 3.1.2(3) by the pawnage tool - but still get the same result: "restore needed"-msg and no signal. Also no other SIM card helped.
I am working with iTunes 10.1, is that it?
Who can help? Is it bricked?

Sounds like a hardware issue to me. Or your baseband is corrupt. Either way if a restore isnt fixing it there isnt much you can do.

As said it was running alright with 3.1.2 but some apps crashed so I decided to set it up new.
Can I downgrade/upgrade the baseband?
Would be too bad if there's nothing that can be done. I really like the 2G.Last edited by kacheng; 11-26-2010 at 02:26 PM.

A dfu restore should refresh the baseband so if that doesn't fix it then it is a hardware issue. Every phone I have seen pop up with that message I have not been able to fix.

But how can it be that it was totally fine before I tried to upgrade to 3.1.3?

Don't know. Maybe something happened during the update that caused your baseband to get corrupted.
