I'm currently running an iPhone 4, on 4.2.1, not previously jailbroken, the most up to date software, etc.
Will this work?
- Downgrade iPhone 4 to 4.1
- Create a new iPhone
- Jailbreak using redsn0w
- Use tinyumbrella and Cydia to save SHSH blobs on 4.1
- Restore to 4.2.1
- Restore from back up (all files etc. that are there now go back)
- Jailbreak using redsn0w 0.9.6b4
- Install jailbreak apps and enjoy
???
Please help, I'd like to jailbreak without bricking my phone if possible.
I am comfortable with DFU and recovery modes as well as using openiboot in recovery mode if ABSOLUTELY essential.
Thanks,
Fred
