As a side note, you also actually can downgrade your baseband BOOTLOADER too using this method (i.e., if Apple is signing old nonces/old SHSHs for a firmware, 02.10.04 uses 2.6_ICE as compared to 2.8_ICE in 03.10.01). It's one complete package...

Though some preliminary digging in the new baseband shows a client challenge for a nonce from Apple, then doing something to that nonce and returning it for the signature to boot--so this may get quite a bit harder in the future (Apple can shrink that overlap window more quickly).

(EDIT: I am not a very good BB hacker at all--in fact I'm a giant flaming n00blet. Take what I say with a grain of salt--I just notice things mostly and make wild suppositions).

P.S.: As of this posting, 4.1 (both 8B117 and 8B118) and 4.2b3 are being signed. Considering Apple is probably on holiday until next week, we've got some time for everyone to SAVE THEIR DAMN BLOBS.

Huh yes..here in Doha all shops are selling factory unlocked phones but i've waited 2 months and still out of stock for iphone 4 everywhere soo i had to buy an locked one instead from the black market :P (i still have waranty 1year)
