You should downgrade back to 4.1 and jailbreak again & wait for a tethered jailbreak for 4.2.

It will be awhile b4 a new jailbreak is out

You can downgrade your firmware to 4.1 , I think apple is still signing 4.1 firmware, try it now. You have to download the 4.1 ipsw from another source like here : iPod, iPhone and iPad Firmware Download
And then Do the Shift + restore to 4.1 ipsw.

Dont Apple immediately stop signing old firmwares when they release a new one?

    Default shsh

And if we don't have the .shsh blobs stored? then what? I wish I would have heard about those before I updated.

If you don't have shsh blogs, then you cannot downgrade your firmware.

Hey Narsito, I'm getting ready to upgrade to 4.2.1, but after reading your post I got afraid to loose the JB possibility.

On the dev team blog they said the tethered JB will work just fine, you just need P C to boot into JB state.

If I was you don't bother with 4.2.1 nothing special about it, just good new SMS ringtones, and I had loads of problems with jb, like I said before try to do it about 10 times - no luck , so I'm back with 4.1 and pleased with it

That's the way, stay at 4.1 and be happy because most of Cydia stuffs have been ported for IOS 4.1 only.
Why bother going to 4.2.1 and have tons of problems , worst as it is a tethered jailbreak for most devices
