As weird as the title sounds, I'm stuck in a strange situation.
My iphone used to have iOS 4.1 with baseband 2.10.04. There is no unlock yet for tht as far as I knw. Now I erased all the data accidentally, so its in recovery mode now. I want to unlock my phone so cannot really restore to iOS 4.2 with itunes and restore. WHat should I do now? Is it possible now to go back to iOS 4.1 with baseband (5.3....!) which is unlockable now?
Are you at 4.1 now ?. If you are in recovery, you can shift + restore to 4.1 if apple is still signing 4.1. If not, then you have to use shsh blogs to restore to 4.1 if you have one.

Pay for what? iphone? i hav a 32gb iphone. I got it 3 mnths ago so i had bb 2.10 by default. i hav no idea about shsh blogs. can u gimme a link for the procedure.
I just checked , Apple has stopped signing 4.1 firmware.
Run tiny umbrella, have your iphone plug in > iphone has to be bootable otherwise you have to retrieve your ECID and input it manually > Click save shsh.
Let us know what shsh blogs you have.
To retrieve your ECID manually :
Download USBview
Run it with your iphone either in Recovery or DFU mode.
Under Option : Check config decriptor
Hit F5 to refresh
Scroll down to Apple connected device
Highlight it and on the right side , you will find your 16 digits ECID
Now with your ECID, you can input it into Tiny Umbrella under manual ECID
