SHSH confusion???
I saved my blobs a while back and i think it was on iOS 4.0.1, at the time cydia showed me at the top that i had SHSH saved for 4.0.1
Now i am confused because it now says 'SHSH: iOS 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.1, 4.2b3'
I have never been on any of these firmwares apart from 4.0.1. as far as i was concerned i thought i had to be on these firmwares and then save my blobs?
Could some one please try and clear this up for me?
Thanks in advance.

I used to think the same, but now Cydia is storing blobs automatically. Mine reads the same. except it starts with 4.1 as this phone was never at a prior firmware.

If you have your host file modified to hit Saurik's server instead of Apple's, yes.

No problem at all. Remember to try to protect your baseband should you need an unlock or for a later time when you wish to sell your phone.

I was hoping you could help me again....
Last night i decided i wanted to do a restore clean up my phone a bit. I was on iOS4.0 and wanted to restore to 4.1
On Cydia it tells me at the top - SHSH: iOS 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0, 4.1, 47.2b3
With it saying this i thought and clarified above i can restore to 4.1 although i've never been on 4.1 before.
LAst night i tried to restore to 4.1 and kept getting the 3002 error after the firmware was extracted. Tried a few times made sure my host file was correct and still nothing.
Decided to try iOS 4.0 and it worked straight away, Can anyone shed any light on this? dont really want to restore to 4.2.1 and 4.0 is too old now

install newest tinyumbrella, connect phone, save shsh's, when it's done start the TSS server, make sure it is accepting connections (look under log after you start it) open iTunes and shift+restore to 4.1, you will get an error when it's almost complete (either 1015 or 1004) the restore is actually complete, just select kick out of recovery when you get the error

This is exactly what i did to restore to 4.0 The only thing i didn't do is when i started tiny umbrella i didn't save SHSH's because I've already done it before. It also said it was accepting connections. Cat understand why it wont let me restore to 4.1
