Default Help! - How to jailbreak and unlock 3G with broken power button?

    Hello all

I have been hunting online since yesterday trying to find a way to jailbreak and unlock my iPhone 3G with no luck!

I'm new to all this stuff so appreciate any help given.

    My iPhone:
    3G 8GB (A1241)
Locked to O2 in the UK
    I think firmware is 4.1 (iPhone1,2_4.1_8B117_Restore.ipsw)
    The power/sleep button is broken
It has not been jailbroken before

What is the best/easiest jailbreak and unlock method to use for this phone, bearing in mind that the power/sleep button is broken and I can't get it into DFU mode via that method?

Many thanks in advance if anyone can point me in the right direction!

Why not focus on fixing the power button? Not to try to sound like your Dad, its just that I am a hardware guy...not software guy.

    Thanks, Dad

I have tried numerous times to fix this the power button to no avail. I've not been able to find the power/audio flex cable where I live (Istanbul) so I've had to order one from the UK. God knows if it'll turn up or not so thought I'd try to find a fix in the meantime.
