Now to my other second 3GS on 3.1.2 Jailbroken with jailbreakme. Please let me know what I need to do to get it to a modified iOS 4.1 as well? It's on 05.11.07 and the serial number is quite different..._K_421BV3NP with the 4th and 5th digit being 42. Thanks

Put your iphone into recovery or dfu mode, download usbview , run it and under options check the config decriptor and hit f5 to refresh. Scoll down to apple device, right click, right and see the iboot to see if it is old or new bootrom.

Open up Cydia and tell me what shsh blogs you have on the front page.

The repo isn't working. You can try and run redsn0w 0.9.6b2 to put you into DFU mode and then shift + restore to Custom firmware of 4.1 to preserve your baseband.

Shsh: 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.1

i am going to write it up for you.

Open tiny umbrella
Put your iphone into DFU mode
Higlight your device on the left side
Highlight 3.1.2 shsh blogs, make sure it is the correct one not the other 3gs.
If you haven't had it downloaded, click save shsh will downloaded all the shsh blogs onto your TU
Now start tss server
Do the shift + restore to 3.1.2 ipsw
Error 1015 pops up, use Exit recovery from TU
Jailbreak your 3.1.2 with Redsn0w 0.9.4
Once jailbroken, put your iphone into recovery mode
Now do the shift + restore to custom firmware of 4.1 created by Snowbreeze 2.1
Once restored, you are jailbroken at 4.1
Unlock with Ultrasn0w from Cydia.

Awesome yeow202. I was able to get everything to work without having to use tiny umbrella TSS Server, but I went ahead and saved my SHSH every time I've made a version change tonight just in case. Thanks for all the help. I won't bother you with the iPhone 4 tonight. I think I've over exerted you too much for one night. Thanks again.

Hi, I'm from turkey and have unlock my 3GS currently on IOS 3.1(7C144)and modem firmware 05/11/07.

I want to preserve unlock feature. I do not know what tinyumbrella is, what SHSH is etc.. do not know where can they be downloaded.
Only cydia is installed on my phone and have never been used...
Does it means the phone is jb?

Serial number starts with 88940

How can I update it?

I am so much aware about pc and updating firmware. My other phone is galaxy s froya Android.

Could you please assist me that which instructions and steps I have to follow?

Restore to custom firmware of iOS 4.2.1 created by Pwnage tools 4.1.3 to preserve your baseband and it will be untethered for you.

Does the iOS 4.2.1 means the latest firmware for Iphone 3GS.

Will I restore the firmware for 7C144, namely there are lots of custom firmware on pwnage tool?

After restored, will it be still unlocked?

by the way; is my iphone that (has only cydia) jailbroken or not for now?
