    Default tinyumbrella wont find iphone

just bought and iphone 4 with 4.1 on it and jailbroke it.
i'd like to save my shs but the latest tinyumbrella wont recognize my device at all. the buttons for put device into recovery /take out of recovery are greyed out.
tried putting it into recovery mode manually but still cannot save them.
    worked fine for my 3gs.
does it not support iphone 4?

Of course it does, make sure your iphone 4 is not in recovery mode or dfu mode, must be in bootable state ( Home Screen) ,then TU will recognize your ECID and click save shsh .

If your iphone is not bootable, then you will have to manually input the ECID of your iphone 4 and then click save shsh.
You can use USBview to view your ECID , copy it down and input into TU.
Usbview : Iphone either in DFU or Recovery mode, under option check mark
config decriptors and hit F5 to refresh > scroll down to apple device > right pane and look for the 16 digits ECID, it will always be the same for your iphone 4.
