Please help...
I have an iphone 3g 5.14.02 I was told today about jailbreak and I attempted before researching....I know so dumb. I tried to jb using limera1n and now my phone will not even turn on. Is there any help for my iphone or is it fried?
I know I have seen a million posts tonight trying to find the answer and I am sure there will be ugly replies to my post but I really hope there is someone out there that can give me an answer...
Thanks in advance
Courtnee
When I try to turn my phone on now it just has the cd and plug when I plug it in itunes does not recognize my phone...I havent done anything after this but I am wondering if I should restore it in itunes? Any help is greatly appreciated. I have read so many posts today my head is seriously killing me and I really need to be studying my Anatomy and Physiology instead of jacking with this phone all day...sigh <why did I even try this?>Last edited by CParks; 11-13-2010 at 08:32 PM. Since you already have the 4.1 baseband you may as well restore in itunes to 4.1.
Once there you can use this guide to jailbreak and activate: iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 3G Using RedSn0w (Windows) [4.1]
Then you just have to sit tight for a unlock to come out (if you need to unlock that is) which should be sometime this month.
If itunes isnt recognizing your iphone in restore mode (itunes symbol and cord on the screen) then you can try dfu mode. http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034Last edited by Simon; 11-13-2010 at 08:39 PM.

Try dfu to restore first. If it fails again and leaves you in recovery then try to use tiny umbrella to exit recovery, you should see the button to do this at the top right of tiny umbrella.

DFU mode : Plug in your iphone > Hold both button for 10 secs > release the Power button but keep holding the Home button for another 10 secs or until you hear a beep on your machine.
Nevermind, just realize what you meant by dfu wouldn't work

The folder you downloaded? It is supposed to just be 1 file.
What version of rednow are you using.

ok....so I am already on 4.1 so I can skip the first few steps of "shift restore" in itunes? I think that is where I am getting hung up....I have redsnow downloaded and can open it but....that is where I cant click next.
redsnow - 0.9.6b4
sigh...Im sorry I know this seems so simple, but I am still hung up. I have an iphone 3g 4.1 5.14.02 and I am using Windows Vista (is Vista messing me up?)Last edited by CParks; 11-28-2010 at 08:01 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Ya you dont need to restore. Open redsn0w and click browse to choose the 4.1 firmware you downloaded.
