    Smile iOS 4.2 Upgrade-Jailbrake

Hi there I have my iPhone 4 with iOS 4.1 jailbroken with limera1n and absolutely love it. I am planning on upgrading to iOS 4.2 when its available but only once there is an untethered jailbreak for it. My question is how to I keep all my progs and tweaks that I have on my jailbroken 4.1 once I upgrade to 4.2?

There are apps in cydia that can backup your jailbroken apps and data but it is not always good to use them when updating to a new firmware as it could load something back on there that may not be compatible with the new firmware.

so what you are saying is I have to re customize and download all apps from cydia again every time apple does an upgrade and I choose to install that upgrade?

I use AptBackup. It doesn't actually back up the apps themselves, but a list of them and stores that in a file within the part of iOS that gets backed up by iTunes. So, you run it and select backup. After you upgrade and iTunes does it's restore, you jailbreak, reload AptBackup open it and select restore.
