    Default 3GS iOS4.1 JB Confused!

I'm posting this after an entire afternoon of research. I'm sure the answer exists somewhere on the internet but I CANNOT find it.

    Some facts first...

    I have a 3GS
    Version: 4.0.2 (8A400)
    Model: MC134B
    Firmware: 05.13.04

    Jailbroken with limera1n.

I want to upgrade to 4.1 and obviously preserve the baseband so I can unlock in the future.

I've tried using redsn0w_win_0.9.6b2 with the stock IPSW...for about three hours before I finally realised that wouldn't work for obvious reasons.

Now I realise I need a custom IPSW...I think. I do have a mac but I don't know how to make a custom IPSW. I don't even know whether I can just download a custom IPSW.

Any advice or links to guides would be appreciated.

HOW TO: Jailbreak iOS 4.1 with Sn0wbreeze 2.1

You can use sn0wbreeze on windows to do it. How to above.

If you would rather use pwnage tool (it is more reliable) then you can follow this guide: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=12349

Thanks for that, I went with the pwnage tool option and it worked like a charm, just restoring my backup and I should be good to go!
