How to know if you have REALLY unlocked you iPhone

Hello from Florida via Toronto.

By current phone provider in Canada, BELL, has given me a iPhone 4 with 4.1 on it. I am in Florida for the next 6 months so I want to unlock the phone and pick up a AT&T or similar sim to save on ROAMING charges. I followed the instructions for limera1n and everything finished as guided. However, when I tried the sim at the local AT&T store no carrier showed up.

Is there any way to know for sure if the phone is unlocked?

All you have to do is a restore to 4.1 again, put your ATNT card to acitvate and you will get service even without jailbreaking it.
Now that you get service, you can jailibreak with Limera1n.

Back on topic...u want to kno if it's unlocked? Don't restore....just stick another sim in it and if it catches signal then ur worries are over...

The lady at the AT&T store gave me the sim from their iPhone 4 demo, we put it in our Canadian iPhone 4 and it didn't pick up the carrier. Which leads me to believe the unlock never worked.

All Canadians iphone 4 are factory unlocked. Whenever you want to use a new sim, you need a fresh restore and activate with your new sim, You don't need Ultrasn0w

If you don't restore , it won't work.

4.1 couldnt be unlocked last i checked a couple days ago..
