problem when trying to jailbrake

my phone was jailbroke b4 but the other day i downloaded a app and it crashed so had to update to 4.1 so i downloaded snowbreeze and redsnow but when i use them it asks me to load 4.1 but all the 4.1 iso i have downloaded dont seem to work with them can anyone tell me what im doing wrong thanks

Use limera1n or greenpoison to jailbreak and you wont need the 4.1 firmware. Unless you have a iPhone 3G, in which case you just need to download the 4.1 firmware for iPhone 3G so you can browse for it with redsnow.

i did try limera1n but it hung on dfu mode will look for greenpoison and try that yes its a 3g but when i download the firmware redsnow cant find the file

If downloaded as a .zip file, rename the extension from .zip to .ipsw and this will be the file.
For 3g jailbreak, you can use Redsn0w 0.9.6b1 or 0.9.6b2 to jailbreak it.

You will not be able to unlock it but just jailbreak at 4.1

it still cant locate the zip file with the new name and when greenpoison opens a black page opens first and it says error i am going to try another laptop i know i cant unlock just want to re jailbrake

Make sure you restore your 4.1 and setup as a new iphone. A backup restore will not work.

thanks can close the post i got it done by highlighting the downloaded iPhone1,2_4.1_8B117_Restore and pasting in open and it worked i did it with redsn0w
