recently i received an iphone3g and i decided to do the whole jail breaking and unlocking (sorry if its the same thing)so i could use t mobile anyways i was told that version 4.1 05.14.02 isn't jail breakable or unlock able

what i heard was that when the release 4.2 there will be a jailbreak/unlock but it does ant make sense why cant 4.1 not be broken but a later version will be

what do you guys suggest i should do waited out or if theirs a solution to jail breaking/unlocking a 4.1 with 05.14.02 please tell me

Wait. Unlock and jailbreaking are different they are releasing unlock because they don't want apple to patch it before they release 4.2.

No there is not an unlock at this time for that baseband

The unlock for the 5.14.02 baseband should be released sometime after 4.2 is officially out. 4.2 might be released within a week or so, no guarantees though.

you think i should cancel the deal i have with tmobile until the release of the unlock for 5.14.02 or jjust keep it since i heard it was coming out on the 9th of this month which is tomorrow but idk if they will have the unlock out that quick?

If you can afford to wait about a couple days to maybe a week or more, then I would say not to cancel with T-Mobile. The release of the new unlock is close, closer than it has ever been before. No exact date is specified though (as it depends on the unannounced release of 4.2).

Hi Guys
I have a 3g Iphone on 3.1.3 jailbroken (using jailbreakme.com) and unlocked (using ultrasnow) firmware version 5.12.01

I wanted to upgrade to ios 4.1 but after 6 weeks or so of looking how to do this safely (so i can have the carrier unlock as well as jailbreak) i am now totally confused

can anyone help ? can i update to version 4.1 then jailbreak and unlock the Iphone 3g ?

please help, i am down to my last strands of hair !

i havn't updated as yet, but want to get it to 4.1 with unlock!! its a nightmare, i have read everything and there is so much conflict i need a pro to say "This is how you do it safely !! " LOL

Make sure you have itunes atleast 9.2 to 10
Do a shift + restore to 3.1.3 ipsw again.
Jailbreak with Redsn0w 0.9.4 but browse to 3.1.2 ipsw.
Once jailbroken, do an update on Cydia.
Now download Snowbreeze 2.0.2 > Use Expert mode > General > Uncheck activate my iphone.
Build it and it will be named Snowbreeze_4.1.ipsw and placed on your desktop
Download ireb 4.1 from the same source as Snowbreeze 2.0.2 :iH8sn0w.com | Jailbreak your iPod touches and iPhones
Having your iphone plug in and the official sim card inserted.
Run Ireb 4.1 to put you into DFU mode
Now open up Itunes, you are in restore mode > do the Shift + Restore to Snowbreeze_4.1.ipsw.
If successfully restored, you are already jailbroken at 4.1.
Unlock with Ultrasn0w from Cydia.
Now your iphone will be activated and jailbroken at 4.1

SO your saying i can unlock my phone and use my tmobile acc after i follow those intructions even though im in 4.1 and the firmware being 05.14.02?
