HELP No WIFi No Cydia
Okay I bought this phone and when I got it , it had 4.0.1 on it. So I gave it to a friend that said he could put 3.1.2 on it and jailbreak and unlock it. So he did put it back to 3.1.2 but when he jailbroke it Cydia never showed up and now there is no wifi. Please help!!
I have a 3G 16GB it has 3.1.2 (7d11) model MB704LL Modem 05.13.04
My main thing is, I want it Jailbroken, I know it can't be unlocked, or can it?

It can be unlocked with that modem firmware, but might be a little hard to accomplish (but not impossible) if the wifi is not working.

Is the wifi broken or you just don't have wifi? Cuz you'll need wifi to install stuff from Cydia, like ultrasn0w to unlock.
Like x98car said, it would be very difficult to do without wifi. Takes a lot of steps and time...can't remember what those steps are but all I know is, it is a very long process.Last edited by i.Annie; 11-05-2010 at 05:32 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Ya it is definitely a little tricky. I have done it two ways in the past. One by making a custom firmware with ultrasn0w preinstalled and the second by using cyder 2 to install it into cydia through the usb connection.

You can jailbreak your 3.1.2 with Redsn0w 0.9.4 and you do not need wifi to do that.

As for the unlocking, install Ultrasn0w deb file through ssh into your iphone and put it in Cydia/autoinstall

Thats pretty much what cyder 2 does. It allows you find ultrasn0w a little easier than searching the web for the deb file too.

Ya not sure, I havent tried it with the newest pwnage tool. I have done it with pwnage tool for 4.0 though.
