Downgrad question
Im about to downgrade the software on my 3G from 4.1 to 3.1.3 and was wondering that if before I do it should I take my apps out of folders? Also is there anything else I need to do before I start? Thanks!

Will I have to re-enter all of my contacts?
Okay so I keep getting an error when trying this downgrade, then in itunes it says it detects a iPhone in recovery mode. Can anyone help?Last edited by iYeow; 11-05-2010 at 12:25 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Use iRecboot to kick the phone out of recovery mode. If that doesn't work, try kicking it out with TinyUmbrella.

Run iReb during the restore to bypass errors.

On windows you can sync them to outlook or windows contacts. Either will work fine for syncing them back after. Just make sure you do that first before you downgrade.

If you have a recent backup you should be able to do that yes.

Good thing I backed it up right before I started the download. Thanks!

Appdata is hidden by default. You need to go into folder options and select view hidden files to see it.

Go to your start menu and start typing folder and you should see folder options pop up. From here you should be able to find that setting I said. Not near my pc right now so can't check exactly where it is but it is there. Not much you can do with your backup though unless you use a tool like backup extractor to read it.

iPhone backup extractor should be fine on windows. I have never used it myself but heard it works fine. I use juicephone on Mac.
