iPhone 2G Jailbreaking problem
Hey guys, I have an iPhone 2G 8GB jailbroken with redsn0w and 3.1.2 FW. I have a problem, since I have jailbroken it with redsn0w iTunes won't recognize iPhone anymore (therefore I cannot sync music, sync apps and such) only if I enter it in restore mode.. but if not it won't.
It's because I did something wrong or what should I do? I used this tutorial:
iClarified - iPhone - How to Unlock/Jailbreak Your iPhone 2G on OS 3.1.3 Using RedSn0w (Windows)
but instead of 3.1.3 i used 3.1.2 since with 3.1.3 it wasn't working.
I really need your help on this one. I have this problem for more than 3 months.Last edited by arhas; 11-04-2010 at 06:26 AM.

Talk of cracked apps is against forum rules. That is probably where your problem is anyway.

That probably is your problem. Restore and rejailbreak and leave that stuff off the phone and it will probably be ok. Not only are those programs illegal but they can also screw up a iPhone pretty bad.

Yea I already did that at the first time, I bought the iPhone from some1, it was already jailbreaked and it had illegal apps on it. I restored + rejailbreaked with the tutorial from above and that's my problem, iTunes wont recognize iPhone only upon recovery or DFU.
Maybe it's from redsn0w? Should I try something else to jailbreak it?

Maybe try to use a custom firmware made with pwnage tool or sn0wbreeze. Or you can try blackra1n if you are still on 3.1.2. Set it up as a new iphone and stay away from you know what.

Like x98car said, you need to set up as new. I can almost guarantee 90% of users keep restoring from back up, and that's why the problem doesn't go away. Restoring from back up brings the problem(s) back.

After you restore and activate itunes will ask if you want to set the phone up as new or restore from backup. Set it up as new.

I think thats what did it. Restoring from backup every time can bring whatever problems you may have had back after a restore.

Yep, I didn't think frequent restores and re-jailbreaks would fail every time without a constant. And that constant is usually restoring from back up.

considering you are 0 for 2 with that "little thing" I would suggest you uninstall it and stay away from it, if you insist on using it you will need to seek help elsewhere, it's against the forum rules to help with warez/pirated app related problems other than to tell you to uninstall it

done
In the end we're all just chalk lines on the concrete, drawn only to be washed away. For the time that I've been given, I am what I am.
