Jailbreak 3gs on 4.1

I've been trying to jailbreak my iPhone 3gs that has never been jailbroken.
I've tried Limera1n and it doesn't go past the dfu mode part.
What can I do? I would like to unlock it too but I heard there isn't a tool to do that.
By the way can I downgarde this iPhone?

You can use GreenPoison RC4 to jailbeak.

+1 for Greenpois0n if you don't require an unlock. Just back up the phone in iTunes, and run Greenpois0n. If jailbreak fails, restore phone to factory settings, run Greenpois0n again, and then restore from backup. Video tutorial here if you need it. =]

hey i tried it and im putting the iphone in dfu mode and my computer even says its on dfu mode but greenpois0n says dfu failed...

You can try as many times until you get it right.

If you can get GP RC3, it seems to work better on 3gs

Finally worked. Thanks man!! Any idea when I the unlocks going to come out. I have an 3gs and a 3g both need to be unlocked.

Next time, use Custom firmware to preserve your baseband, don't just jump to new jailbreaking tool.
