iPhone 3GS 4.0 Stuck Rebooting!

I did the jail break using jail break me but as time went on I hit delete all content and settings through the iPhone and then it was stuck on the apple logo forever so I restarted it and now it won't ever boot but I believe is still jail broken. iTunes won't restore it in DFU mode and im kinda at loss what to do now. Any help?

Im not worried about unlocking yet, I need the phone to boot up it has an ATT sim card in it

Alright, make sure you have the latest itunes, hit restore in itunes to take you to IOS4.1 , leave your sim card in to activate, you can then jailbreak with either GreenPoison RC4 or Limera1n at IOS 4.1

Says cant contact the update servers after it downloads and extracts the update.

Go check your hosts file, anything with gs.apple.com , put a number sign infront of it # to ignore, so your firmware can be verified by Apple.
You should download the firmware first and do the Shift key + Restore in itunes to browse to the 4.1 ipsw.
And have you updated your Itunes yet?

Okay how do I check the host file? and when do I hold down shift? I have the IPSW

It looks like this :
Run Notepad as Admin , open up hosts file :
C windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
#74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
save it and reboots your pc
Now do the Shift + Restore

What do you mean by shift + restore is gone? With Itunes open, you press the shift key + restore button in Itunes, a box will open up for you to browse.

You put everything on your desktop, easier to browse.

Oh well i did the number sign thing and just hit restore through itunes without doing shift. and now its restoring. But im guessing this is going to update the baseband? so i will have to wait till 4.2 is relased along with the new unlock, correct?

Oh i see what you mean, your iphone is rebooting itself and frozen, put it in Recovery mode

I thought you said you do not need an unlock.

Pull out the cable if you need unlock.

Ya im giving it to my sister she uses t mobile, okay its done restoring, says update 4.1 with baseband 05.14.02

You can't use it on T-mobile, you can only use it on ATNT. You mentioned earlier you are not worried about unlock.

okay so I have to wait for the new unlock to be released which is after 4.2? I should of said so in the beginning my bad.

If you had told me that you wanted it for t-mobile, I would have given you another approach, it is too late now.

Now you can use GreenPoison RC4 to jailbreak it.

No , you cannot downgrade your baseband.
