need help with snowbreeze

hi all i have a iphone 3g on 3.1.3 and iam trying to jailbreak and unlock it with snowbreeze i have made the new ipsw file then i open up itunes hold shift then click restore then select the new ipsw file then it says restoring for about 10mins then says erro 1604? is it because i have the new itunes?thanks in advance

You can run ireb 4.1 first to put your iphone into DFU mode , then Shift + Restore to the custom Firmware.
