hello i want to jb my iphone 3gs with gp and i was just wondering how can i save my previous text messages before i jb my phone. i remember it used to delete them in my previous jb's

tahaninja is correct, using greenpois0n or limera1n will not delete anything already on the phone so no worries

backup your phone in itunes before you jailbreak, then you can always restore to backup and have it just the way it was before you did it

while it is always wise to backup before doing anything to the phone, your suggestions applies more to a restore to custom firmware to attain the jailbreak as apposed to using limera1n or greenpois0n since neither remove anything from phone

If your iphone has not been jailbroken and you use Limera1n or GP, all your infos are intact. It is only the restore will wipe out everything.

I wish I wouldve backed up a phone before I tried to jailbreak. The jailbreak didn't go as planned and I had to restore and lost all of my friends pictures. It doesn't hurt to back up sometimes, especially if it's not your phone you're working on.
