3GS jailbroke 4.0.1 going to 4.1?

Need a little help...I jailbroke with JailBreakMe. I'm pretty sure I don't have my shsh blobs (sp?) backed up on Cydia. I would like to upgrade to 4.1. Should I downgrade to a clean install and start over? Should I wait until 4.2? Saw on a different post that I can backup my Cydia apps, but do I need to do that if I have my Cydia account...won't it "remember" what apps I have purchased?

Kinda need a hand-hold on this one...is there a guide for doing this?

So I can just use iTunes to restore to 4.1 and then jailbreak? Am I right that my Cydia apps won't get lost? (Intelliscreen and MyWi)

You will lose all Cydia apps, but you can install it back after the jailbreak.

One last stupid question then, Cydia has records of apps that I've purchased and I won't have to rebuy, right?

I remember reading somewhere that someone bought a Cydia app and the developer (don't know who) had made her repurchase the app until she was able to "bug" them enough to nit repay for the app. Idk if that helps but I suggest emailing the developer your concern/situation and maybe they'll let you reinstall without having to purchase it again.

The developers do work hard on the programs we use. So kudos to their brilliance.

No , you don't have to buy again. Your Cydia account has already been linked to your serial number.

Ahh! Moment of panic...do I restore first or can I just do an update to 4.1 in iTunes?

You can hit restore in iTunes to get you to 4.1 first and then jailbreak

Thanks...I saw somewhere else what I need to do. What I meant was do I first in iTunes Restore to 4.0.1 or just hit Update in iTunes to update to 4.1? Second step would be to jailbreak.

I will just hit Update directly to 4.1. No need to first restore.

Make sure you update your itunes first.
If you want to jailbreak at 4.1, then you have to restore to 4.1 firmware first, you can either donwload the 4.1 ipsw and do the Shift + Restore to 4.1 ipsw or you can hit restore in Itunes which will also restore it to 4.1. Then put your sim card to activate it and then use Limera1n to jailbreak.

I have a 3GS J&U on 4.01 and I want to go to 4.1. I know I can jailbreak 4.1, but will I lose the unlock? If so, how can I update to 4.1 while keeping the unlock?

With PwnageTool if you have a Mac or with a PwnageTool ipsw and a lot of fiddling in Windows if you don't
