iPhone Restore Stuck

So I went to restore my iPhone 3G(s) to the newest 4.1 software. Right now the computer is stuck saying "Updating iPhone Software" and the iPhone has the apple logo with a bar across the screen and has been stuck there for 3+ hours. I don't think the phone's or the computers like something here??

My brother's iPhone is the same way. Anyone got any advice for this not so novice at computers guy?

EDIT: Computer is a Macbook Pro running 10.6.4 and not running the newest iTunes program.

Check if you have wifi sync installed, if you have uninstalled it. You must have the latest itunes too.

I did/do have the latest wifisync. So I need to update that and iTunes to get out of this issue?

Uninstall wifisync, update itunes and do the upgrade again.

EDIT: I got it working. Had to restart the computer, silly me thought Mac's were better than that times
