How to restore Iphone 2G without losing Jailbreak? With no sync cable?

I "erased all content and settings" because my itunes still wouldnt pick it up in DFU mode so i thought i should restore it because i thought the outdated firmware had something to do with it... =[

Set it in Recovery Mode then if DFU won't work. While the phone is on, hold power and home for 10 seconds, release power button and hold home until the iTunes+USB screen shows up. iTunes should recognize it then.

Definitely shouldn't have done that. That setting always leaves the phone in boot loop when done on a jailbroken iphone. Do as Annie says and try and use recovery mode.

my bf took it apart and it looks like the person who sold it to me ALSO opened it up and messed with it. The wire to the charging part didnt have a pin connector and was freaking held together with elmers glue! WTF! NO WONDER it stopped syncing. So my bf is going to get more pin connectors from his work (hes a computer tech) and hes going to attempt to fix it. and the wire to the wifi didnt have a head either. holy moly.

i cant, i bought it like 2 years ago, and dont remember who i bought it from, i have a new ebay account and honestly its probably too late to do anything about it.. =/

Oh I thought it was a recent purchase. Ah well, I guess you could buy the parts and fix it. I wonder how much it would cost. I'll probably go research that and come back later to let you know unless someone beats me to it
