Weird glitch for iphone 4?

Not sure if this glitch also happens for other iPhones but I finished talking with my friend so i wanted to clean the part where u put ur ear (to hear ur friend) so I did it and just before the screen turned black (that happens when u put ur ear on the voice thing) I pressed the square button so I saw it go to springboard but then the screen turned black and my phone froze for like 20 seconds then I pressed the power button and the screen turned on.....

Just sounds like a bug with the proximity sensor

ya its kind of annoying, and when I talk it sometimes turns the screen black then back on and continues for like 5 secs... its kind of annoying....

update to 4.1, its a known problem in iphone 4. Updating to 4.1 may not fix it all the way, but it should improve. Don't forget to preserve your baseband if you need it to be unlocked.
