I bumped up to 4.1 and limera1ned. Seems to be working. Some apps need to be brought up to date but all in all it is working and will only get better.
Also it is an untethered jailbreak. Which is a must for me.Last edited by Blastfurnace; 10-21-2010 at 05:34 AM. Reason: Add information

I need to preserve the baseband so that I can unlock. and I can't see how to do it. to my knowledge limera1n does not work on 4.0.2? so I would have to upgrade to stock 4.1 before I could do anything and I'd lose my unlock for awhile it seems. am I missing something?
I tried limera1n and it says everything is working fine, and the jailbreak is complete. but when I look at the phone there is no limera1n logo...Last edited by mcnizzel; 10-21-2010 at 07:30 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

reboot the phone and see if the limera1n icon appears
In the end we're all just chalk lines on the concrete, drawn only to be washed away. For the time that I've been given, I am what I am.

I tried limera1n a half dozen times, to no avail, then miraculously when I was putting it into DFU mode for another attempt it interupted me and popped the limera1n logo up on the iphone's screen. and it finally worked.
now that I've run limera1n and installed cydia, is it possible to install a custom 4.1 with no baseband update?
