    Default 3GS iOS 3.0 update to 4.x

I got a Iphone 3gs with old 3.0 ios lol

im thinking about upgrading to the new iOS 4.0

however, i do want to keep my ability to UNLOCK, meaning i don't want to upgrade my baseband.

Can someone give me the steps i need to do in order for me to update safely and without affecting my baseband?

Sorry i'm not very familiar with this.

    Thanks in advance : )

Download tiny umbrella:The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
Press save SHSH with your iphone connected and see what SHSH it can get.

Or you can skip all that. I assume you are jailbroken with redsn0w. Download sn0wbreeze: http://ih8sn0w.com/index.php/welcome.snow
Create a custom 4.1 with it then shift-click restore to that custom 4.1. This will preserve your baseband.
