    3.1.2 : 3.1.3 : 4.o.1 : 4.1
I do not have 4.0.1 ispw restore on my computer. I planned to go from 3.1.2 to 4.1
I will restart my computer again and try it again. The 3.1.2 that is on my computer is the one I used to upgrade and jailbreak the one I am on now.

Go check your hosts file , it must only have this 127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com

    hey John

Have you check the hosts file yet. Since you are getting error 3194, it looks like you are not going through the local server.

I guess I shouldn't attempt to try to do more then I can. I have no idea how to check my host file. I know when I upgraded to 3.1.2 someone was kind enough to send me a file that changed my host file and then I could do the restore so I assume that permanantly changed the host file. IF not then I am screwed. By the way I have been reading all the prolems they are having with the new TU. sure glad I didn't upgrade that.

OK, I finally found out how to get into the host file and yes, the apple line is there
