Are you on 3.0 or 3.1.2 ? If you are on 3.0 on this link look for fw 3.0 www.felixbrus.de And apply it to jailbreak

That is what f0recast said, so I assume it's 3.0. I'll give it a try and see what happens.

Yes I am still talking about the iPhone 2G.
I can't restore the phone to 3.1.3. When I connect the phone to iTunes, it tells me to put a sim card in. I then put in an unactivated AT&T sim card and it wants me to go through the process to activate the phone. This is what I see in iTunes:

That shows up. I am never given the option to restore or update the firmware at all.

Oic, you have to trigger it in recoery mode. Do you know how ?
Turn it off, while holding the Home Button , plug your cable in until the Itunes Cable logo appears, now you can restore to 3.1.3
I am like juggling back and forth with four or five of you guys.Last edited by iYeow; 10-15-2010 at 06:49 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

OK, I've been able to restore to 3.1.3. Now do I use redsn0w .9.4, point to the 3.1.2 IPSW and run it?
I really appreciate your time and help with this.

Yes, have you also donnload BL 3.9 and BL 4.6, check only Cydia and Unlock, don't check already pwned. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to complete.

Yes I downloaded those things as well. I went through the redsn0w process and it finally worked.
You've been the first person to successfully help me. I had no idea how to trigger recovery mode. That's what was holding me back the entire time.
