What would be the best way to jailbreak a 3G running 4.1? Thanks!

Ok, then you have to update your itunes to atleast 10 which is currently the latest.
Hit restore in Itunes to take you to 4.1
Once this is done, you can jailbreak with Redsn0w 0.9.6b1 for Mac and Windows version.

Okay another question......I just tried to go to the RedSn0w website and it wont load. Is there anywhere else to get instructions and the program?

Just google search, why don't you do it another way using custom firmware, it is better.

If you have already restored to 4.1, then just go with Redsn0w
