iOS 4.2 beta 3 baseband question
iPhone 4 (4.0)
if I install beta 3 and it updates my baseband will it downgrade it back to the old baseband (seems I read some betas do) when I restore to an older firmware, I don't rely on an unlock but I might want to sell my phone at some point and would like to keep it at the 1.59.00 baseband... if not does anyone know if I can preserve it with tinyumbrella like when you update to 4.1Last edited by j3st3r; 10-14-2010 at 11:07 PM.

Haha, why don't you try it and let us know, we can learn from you

The trick is you must save your shsh blog in TU before you start TSS server
The verification of shsh blogs is done locallyLast edited by iYeow; 10-14-2010 at 10:16 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

all blobs are saved locally (something I do they day a firmware drops), not really sure I want to be a guinea pig though

i can confirm that tinyumbrella will not preserve the baseband, the beta will not even attempt to install with the TSS server running, i can not test whether the baseband will downgrade either because i keep getting itunes error 10 trying to install the beta (installer log say error trying to update the baseband)Last edited by j3st3r; 10-15-2010 at 07:34 AM. In the end we're all just chalk lines on the concrete, drawn only to be washed away. For the time that I've been given, I am what I am.
