I need some help from the great forum members
I could really use your advice. I have an iphone 4 that I used the jailbreakme to jailbreak. I am running ios4.0 & firmware 01.59.00. I want to upgrade to the 4.1 and jailbreak using one of the new jailbreaks. What would be the best way to do this. Should I jailbreak to greenpoison or limerain or upgrade first? Will I lose everything on my phone? I am lost as to what to do,which to do first or should I not do this at all. Thank You in advance for any help.

If you don't need unlock , then you can upgrade to 4.1 and use Greenpoison or Limera1n to jailbreak it.
Every restore will wipe out everything but you can sync back your stuffs with Itunes.Last edited by iYeow; 10-13-2010 at 03:41 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

If you are not concerned with being able to unlock your phone, then just connect to itunes click update let it update and then run greenpois0n to jb it. You will have to reload all your jailbreak apps and themes.
All though that is a easy way to do it without losing much or taking to much time, it is a good chance you will have issues from not doing a clean restore first.

No I don't need the unlock,but I do have mt SHSH's saved on tiny umbrella. So I should just leave my phone as is and then upgrade to 4.1 first and then Jailbreak? Any preference on which JB to use? And will all my itunes and Cydia apps stay on my phone or will I need to restore thru itunes or are they gone? I know this is a lot to ask of you guys, but I don;t know anyone local to ask and I would hate to screw my phone up when it is already jailbroken. I just have a feeling that I am gonna have to upgrade my JB eventually, so why not now. THANKS A LOT FOR ANY HELP.

Restore to 4.1
jailbreak with greenpois0n
You will have to reload all of your jailbreak stuff manually.

You have to update itunes to the latest, hit restore in itunes which will take you to 4.1. Put your sim card to activate it first , then jailbreak with GP or Limera1n.
