Question about jailbreaking to os4 with iphone 3G
I have a jailbroken iPhone 3G on 3.1.2 and modern firmware(baseband?) 05.11.07, it is currently on a contract with virgin australia
is it to my understanding that I can use this guide to update to 4.0
How to Unlock iPhone 3GS/3G on 4.0 Firmware
and then use this guide to unlock?

alright can u link me to a guide to upgrade to 4.1 with unlock and works even if iphone has contract plan?

I know a couple ways to do this, but they're kinda buggy. You'll have to create and restore to a custom 4.1 iOS using Sn0wbreeze.
For my unlock and activation I used valj's guide on this thread:

Problems I ran into after doing this though is that I can't open Youtube (though mxtube works fine), and I'm finding I'm having issues backing up my phone on at least one computer.
User Yeow202 is pretty certain he has a fix for both these issues here:
I think im screwed can anyone help
Though I haven't tried his method yet and am not certain how it differs greatly from what I've already done using valj's method.
