does 4.1 show low signal and does phone hangs?

i want to know if 4.1 will show a weak signal on my 3gs. also if openin apps,will it hang a while before actually openin? i had these problems when i upgraded from 3.1.3 to 4.0.1. i was getting sick of it so since i had shsh stored in cydia, i switched back to 3.1.3 and re-jb'd it. im afraid to upgrade to 4.1 because i dont want my signal be low and my phone to take longtime to open apps. while in 4.0.1, my signal was so crappy, that alot of times it'll say no service.
