Nasty Problem With 4.1 Jailbreak
Hello,
Have an iPhone 3GS. Was running 3.1.2 jailbroken. Upgraded to 4.1 and jailbroke with limera1n. Worked out fine.
Went to Cydia and began to replace apps that were wiped out with the upgrade to 4.1. All went well until:
I reloaded my 'Categories' app. Everything that used to be in a folder disappeared... like Cydia, My3G, even limera1n. No folders! No 'Categories' in general settings.
Under 3.1.2 I had downloaded a couple of custome themes and used those for the folder icons. I did not download any themes before I downloaded 'Categories'.
So, now I am stumped. Cannot see any app that is a jaibroke app (because it was previously in a folder). Cannot see folders. Cannot see Categories. Seriously stuck.
Help and recommendations appreciated.

Go to sbsettings/more/hidden and unhide all the apps.

Yep, lots of change between 3 and 4. Lots of apps didn't get updated to work. Can you find the apps using spotlight search?

I didn't reload sbsettings.
Yes... can find those apps I reloaded with search. So, I bring up Categories and it tells me there is a folder update error, wants to delete folders and start over again. I say, 'yes'. Re springboard. And now I am able to see all apps in Categories and assign to folders. Weird. Thanks for the help.Last edited by StrongEagle; 10-11-2010 at 08:07 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
