iPhone 3GS Jailbreak Problem
Ok so I am helping out my friend get his iPhone working again. I have jailbroken it before with JailbreakMe. He brought it to me today because it wasn't starting up. It turns on, gets to the Apple Screen and a spinning wheel comes up and spins for a few seconds then stops and freezes. I have tried restoring back to 4.0.1 however TinyUmbrella says it can't find my SHSH blob (I could have sworn I saved it) so I can't restore to anything other than 4.1 and I can't update to 4.1 because I need to preserve the baseband. Is there anything I can do?

Do you know if this iphone has the new or old bootrom ? Or give me the first 5 serial numbers starting from the left.

You could try pointing your hosts file towards cydia and shift+click restore to 4.01.
Don't ask me how to do it though, I've never had to!
Presume theres either a guide on here or google though.
