Stuck In DFU Mode.....?

Right.. downloaded the new jailbreak 'Limera1n' and tbh no i haven't done any research on it, as i'm kinda desperate just to get my 3g jailbroken asap.

the phone is on 4.1 firmware, and have been told this jailbreak works perfectly on 4+ firmwares?

well it doesn't. or at least not for me.

i've gone over it three times now, (thinking third time lucky )
but it gets as far as putting the phone in DFU mode, then goes no further. it just stays on the 'in DFU mode....wait' screen.

Can't be doing anything wrong, as i followed instructions perfectly.

Any suggestions as to what to do??

Limera1n doesn't work for the 3g, use redsn0w.

Oh...... Bummer.

I can't get redsnow to work, i download a lower firmware, but it wont ever find the firmware on my pc for some reason. so i gave up with that one.

I can't get redsnow to work, i download a lower firmware, but it wont ever find the firmware on my pc for some reason. so i gave up with that one.

It doesnt find it for you.. You have to find it yourself

Yeah thats what i mean.... when i download the ipsw file say for example firmware 3.1.2, it downloads fine n when browsing for it in my documents i can find it perfectly..... but when i run the redsnow software, and it asks to browse for the .ipsw, it wont show it in the same file i saved it to, like its not a recognisable file or something.
