I have a iPhone3G iOS4.01 jailbreak-ed using jailbreakme.com

Is there a way for me to be able to load up iOS4.1 jailbreak edition? Running iOS4.01 at iPhone3G is just unbelievable slow and freeze sometimes.

sn0wbreeze and iReb can get you there.

Hit restore in iTunes. It will update you to 4.1. Then use redsn0w 0.9.6 to jailbreak. If your in need of unlocking you'll have to downgrade to 3.1.2, jailbreak with redsn0w 0.9.2, then create a custom 4.1 using sn0wbreeze and restore to that. The reason you'd have to downgrade rejailbreak then use the custom fw is that phones jailbroken with jbme or spirit don't have the nessecary hole to accept a custom fw.

I have created custom ipsw using sn0wbreeze v2.02 When should I use iReb? Can I just load in the custom ipsw built by sn0wbreeze v2.02? Sorry I'm a beginner here. Or can anyone list me the steps to do it?

After everything is well for my iPhone3G with iOS4.1 jailbreak, I accidentally restore it with original iOS4.1 and now I'm not able to jailbreak it again (tried 2 times jailbreak it with sn0wbreeze 2.1, and not able to connect it iTunes as it gives an error message)

My question is, will I be able to jailbreak it again ever? Should I try iOS4.2 (releasing tomorrow) with sn0wbreeze 2.1?

I heard if you look for ultrasn0w 1.0-1 it will unlock it if your running ios 4.1. Id test it but im on 4.0.2

You can only unlock on 4.1 if you preserve your baseband from a previous firmware by making a custom firmware with pwnage tool or sn0wbreeze.

In fact the version for Ultrasn0w is 1.1.1 and unlocks up to baseband 05.13.xx for 3gs.
