iPhone 4 3002 issue
Hi I have an iPhone 4 on 4.0 with no shsh's saved. And right now its stuck on a boot cycle, but its still detectable by itunes and tiny umbrella when in restore mode. What i'm trying to do is update it to 4.1 while preserving the old baseband. So i tried running tiny umbrella with the tss server running but when i shift+restore in itunes to 4.1 it gives me a 3002 error seconds later. I've already tried DFU mode and i still get the same error. Please help!

You must have your 4.1 shsh blogs stored in tiny umbrella and your Device/Version you must select 4.1 shsh blogs , this should take care of error 3002.
Click Display shsh to comfirm it is in there.Last edited by iYeow; 10-09-2010 at 04:49 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I dont think i have any shsh's saved because it says "The following devices/ecids can be restored:" But it lists no devices or ECIDs

Ops, i forgot to tell you if your iphone 4 is not bootable, then Tiny Umbrella cannot recognized your ECID.
I think you can input it manually. Do you know how to find out your ECID ?
It is allways the same on your iphone.
Use kick out of revovery in TU to get back to bootable state.Last edited by iYeow; 10-09-2010 at 05:23 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Do you know what I am talking about

Great, now click Adv tab, under Device/version select iph 4 4.1 shsh
Request Cydia.
Click Save shsh
Wait for answer
Now Start Tss Server
and do the restore to 4.1
You can click display shsh to comfirm too.Last edited by iYeow; 10-09-2010 at 05:28 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Your BB should be preserved this way.
Is it greyed out ?
Hmmm, that is weird.
Under Save shsh , does it show your current iphone firmware status ?
Is your iphone in Home Screen ?Last edited by iYeow; 10-09-2010 at 05:32 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

The phone's background is that it was previously on firmware 4.0 and the "erase all content button" was pushed without knowledge of what it does. After that, i believe the OS and everything on it was erased. So now its just an iphone 4 that shows a boot logo, and can go into restore/dfu mode. :/

So your iphone is in a non bootable state. In order to save shsh , your iphone has to be bootable.
Do you remember, what shsh you have on the front page of Cydia.
At the time when you do your jailbreak, do you know what firmware was Apple signing ? this way I can tell if you have any shsh blogs.Last edited by iYeow; 10-09-2010 at 05:43 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Alright, you have 4.1 shsh blogs but you cannot retrieve it from Cydia using Tiny Umbrella because your iphone is not bootable. Since you cannot retrieve it eventhough it is sitting in Cydia Server, then you cannot use the Tiny Umbrella ( Tss Server ) trick to preserve your baseband.
You can only restore to 4.1 which will update your baseband without the help of TU.

I have a solution for you.
Now, you have to trigger your iphone into recovery mode.
Recovery mode : Turn it off, plug your iphone in while holding the Home button until Itunes Cable logo appears.
Now I want you to retrieve your ECID :
Click Start > Highlight Computer > Right Click Properties > Device Manager > Scroll to Universal Bus Controller > Highlight Apple Device connected > Right Click Properties > Click Detail > Scroll to Device Instance Path > Right Pane > Make your box bigger > Slide the bottom cursor to the right > you will see you ecid , write it down.
Now , input this ECID into TU and highlight under Device/Version IPh 4 4.1 shsh ,
Now Click Save shsh
You can do this without iphone being plug in.
Try it to see if you can download your 4.1 shsh blogs onto TU.
If you can , then follow my previous post to do the restore with TSS Server without upgrading your baseband.Last edited by iYeow; 10-09-2010 at 06:13 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Restore to 4.0 first and when it gives you the 1600 or whatever error after its been restoreing for a while keep it in recovery mode open up tiny umbrella and kick it out of recovery.
