Device details above - will this tool work on my device (if I update to 4.1)?

If so, how would I go about updating to 4.1? I have about 6GB of data on my iPod that cannot be backed up onto my PC due to space issues on it. I had a backup on Rock but since that's gone...
Basically I need a way of backing everything up, then a way of upgrading to 4.1 (as I am not sure if iTunes will be willing to do that since my iPod is JB'd via Star).
I have SHSHs for 4.0 thanks to Tiny Umbrella, so I can go back if I need to.

If you don't have enough space on ur pc, then where are you going to back up your data. You can back it up on a flash drive.
To update your iPod to 4.1, update your iTunes to latest and hit restore, that will take you to 4.1

its only for 4th gen devices, like ipad, iphone 4, and ipod touch 4g

If your ipod touch is an mb model you can JB 4.1 with redsn0w. No need to wait for the next JB.

Well redsn0w is your only option. You can't use greenpoison on it as it's only for 4th gen devices.

One of the chronic dev-team members is working on a new userland JB for such models with 4.1, but it won't be out until 4.2, somewhere around the middle of next month.
