Two Iphn using same PC dwn grd Q

My search terms may be poor, didn't find anything helpful.
So here's the question:
I have 3GS and wife a 3G, both were froze after the Rock restart failure episode. Only able to restart after allowing iTunes to update to latest ver.
Successfully downgraded and JB 3GS with help from tyancolte here at MMi.
3G will not downgrade. After much searching for something that would work, gave up for a while. Now I wonder if its because both are using same PC, and there is another host file or something for the 3G that I need to work on.
I would say I am an advanced user and capable of following instructions. That said I failed using a number of methods posted.
What worked on the 3GS was pointing iTunes to Saurik's server instead of Apple's.
3G gave msg "not compatible with this firmware" using same method.

3G now need SHSH blobs to of been saved for the Firmware that you are wanting to downgrade to..
so if you haven't save SHSH's for it you are stuck i'm afraid.


IF however you have saved those blobs... follow similar instructions for 3GS with the pointing it to the "Fake server" so that iTunes thinks its an official FW.

I will try that again, did not work before. Tried a few times, but have learned it does take a few tries sometimes to work.
