iPhone 3g and needing 4.0 for apps

Why would or need to upgrade the phone to 4.0 for apps? I thought 4.0 and above add no new features to a 3g and older.

Can we have a fake 4.0 for our working stable legal jail broken phones.

IOS 4.XX for 3g has added features too, the way you put into folders, it is up to you if you want the new features. If you want to upgrade , go for the 4.1 ipsw with Snowbreeze 2.0.2 for windows.

No no and No, just read 1000's of posts of problems Jailbreaking with snowbreeze and you cannot unlock as well since the Baseband will now be 5.14 not 5.12 or 5.13 for Ultrasnow.

You see people like to think its simple, its not, many Iphones have been bricked by the darn process

Read carefully, I didn't ask you to restore to stock 4.1 ipsw.
If your firmware is at 3.1.3 and bb is at 05.12.xx, and if you use Snowbreeze to upgrade to 4.1, your bb is still at 05.12.xx, it will preserve your bb at what you had before.
Certainly if you have updated your baseband to 05.14.xx, and you downgraded your firmware in order to jailbreak again at 3.1.3 and then back up to 4.1 with Snowbreeze, you will not be able to unlock. Snowbreeze will not touch your bb and bb cannot be downgraded too.

Apple forces an upgrade to use some Apps in the App store, was not being smart, it is true that the current methods are not 100% safe and can brick the phone, to post otherwise is not responsible.

what I don't get is why so many people apologizes for the crap Apple develops or does? These phones should be easy to unlock and easy to use other programs from places like cydia, its not illegal and not immoral its Apple who is in the wrong.

Apple doesn't control the apps that require 4.x...the app dev does. No jb method will brick an iPhone, it's generally user error.

For instance, the most common brick occurs when people with new boot 3GS goes and install Spirit2pwn, they reboot and next thing you know it's bricked and can't be restored. Worst case scenario. I've seen this happen before too and someone managed to fix it by draining the battery then restoring.

I don't believe it when people say they bricked their phones with a jb tool. I believe they used these tools incorrectly and they bricked the phone themselves. And in regards your your previous post, Redsn0w for Windows is already out but it is a jb tool, it has never had the ability to unlock any phone except the 2G. And Sn0wbreeze doesn't cause problems like bricking the phone, it just causes minor issues like Push or YouTube not working.

And those minor issues can be fixed by some patches in Cydia or simply de-selecting activate in Sn0wbreeze so it doesn't hactivate
