problems with jailbreak

I am trying to jailbreak my itouch 2.2.1 gen 1, but if I download Quickpwn exe or Blackra1n, if I try to open either application windows says they have stopping working. It gives me a debug choice but nothing happens. I am using windows Vista. Does any one know why windows will not open these applications? and what is the easiest method to jailbreak this itouch? Thanks.

Restore your ipod touch to the latest version and run redsn0w 0.9.4 to jailbreak and point to 3.1.2 ipod touch ipsw or when you have restored to3.1.3, go to jailbreakme.com to Slide to Jailbreak.
