Need Help on iPhone 3G

Hey guys i need some help on my iphone 3g.
its stuck at the boot logo and its not recognized by windows. just stuck there so its not a boot loop.
how could i get it out of there.

and when i try to restore to 4.0 (its on ios4) it says error 3014.

so could someone help.
i need it on 4.0 so i can unlock it

You must put your iphone into recovery mode for Itunes to recognize.
You must have 4.0 shsh blogs either stored with Cydia or stored locally.
If you do, then you have to point your hosts file towards Cydia Server.
Do the Shift + Restore to 4.0 ipsw.
All 3g for restore to 4.xx, you will need shsh blogs as well.

If you don't have your SHSHs, DFU then restore to 3.1.x

Hello all,

I am using a 3g iphone on 3.0 still, I find that I have to recharge my phone more often, i want to restore my phone and see if my battery will last longer, it is currently unlocked with ultra snow.

My question is, can i still restore to 3.0 on itunes, or would I have to update the firmware? the phone have never done any shsh blog on cydia so is it still possible to update the firmware at all? (but i do need to keep my unlock though.)

Easy, you can take it all the way to 4.1, Download snowbreeze 2.0.2, and also download the official 3g 4.1 ipsw. Build your own custom firmware, you can use Simple mode. Once created, put your iphone into recovery mode, press shift + Restore to the snowbreeze_4.1.ipsw.
Once restored, update Cydia and install Ultrasn0w.

yes, use shift+restore (pc) or option+restore (Mac) in iTunes and select the 3.0 ipsw, when the restore is done just jailbreak again and unlock again with ultrasn0w

Yeah you can't restore to any 4.0.x firmware without SHSHs. But you can go to 3.1.x without SHSHs. If you want to go to 4.0.x you can first go down to 3.1.x, jb with redsn0w, then sn0wbreeze a custom fw for 4.0-4.1 (whichever you want) to shift+restore to.

To go back to 4.0, simply create a custom firmware of 4.0 , put iPhone into recovery and do shift + restore to to it, this way it bypasses the blogs verification.
With cfw, you can go up and down without any issue, the benefits of custom firmware

so i think im in the biggest jam of my life.

restore to 3.1.2 got an error 10x and its in recovery mode.
jailbrokke with redsn0w and went back to recovery mode.
make a custom ios4 firmware with sn0wbreeze went back to recovery mode.

use recboot and it wornt take me out of recovery mdoe.

not downloaded umbrella and dont know how to use it lol

Restore to 3.1.2, error 1015 will pop up because of baseband changes, use kick out of recovery from Tiny Umbrella. Now you will be at emergency Screen.
Use Redsn0w 0.9.4 to jailbreak from Emergency Screen.
Once done, let Cydia update to its latest.
If you want to restore to Custom firmware, you must put your iphone into Recovery mode first prior to restoring to Custom firmware.

You can use IReb 4.1 to help you install Custom firmware 4.1 created by Snowbreeze 2.0.2.
