Hi guys, I am stuck in the Blackra1n loop, and it seems it will take alot to get it out. So I guess my only option is to restore, but I dont want to lose any data I have backed up my phone recently.

What are my options?

What version do you want to restore ? You will need shsh blogs for firmware that apple is not signing.

I want to restore to 3.1.2 I have the shsh blog already saved on my computer which I got through Autoshsh but now I dont know what to do next? I also have a back up file from itunes which is recent, can I used that after restore to back it up again?

I also went in to the Host file and added the '74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com'

If you have stored it locally, then all you have to do is to highlight the 3.1.2 shsh blogs under Device/Version.
Put your iphone into Recovery mode.
Start Tiny Umbrella.
It will say connecting.
Do the Shift + Restore in Itunes.
When you are using Tss Server to restore, you must only have this one in your hosts file, 127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com
and the rest mark it with # sign to ignore it

After doing this can I use the backup file that I have created a couple of days ago with Itunes to get some of the data back?

If you are restoring to the same firmware, then you can use backup restore once you have fully restored your iphone.
To highlight, in Tiny Umbrella, click Advance Tab and you will see the Device/Version to select. You can check if it is already stored in TU, by clicking Diplay shsh.
