Still confused, can someone clarify my prob?

sorry if i sound noobie but i just have to get my question out there.

my friend has a iphone 3gs and she wants to get it jailbroken but she updated to 4.0.2 before ever deciding to get it jailbroken. is it really too late for her to jailbreak it now since she never did that SHSH thing b4 cause she never jailbroken the iphone b4.

Yes, she can't jailbreak it at 4.0.2.
