blackra1ned 3gs 3.1.2 tethered new bootrom 5.11.07 want to get rid of tether w/e FW
Hello. As title says, I have a 3gs on 3.1.2, JB/unlocked with blackra1n RC3. tethered. I'd like to get rid of the tether and keep the JB/unlock, no matter to what FW I have to upgrade. No SHSH on file unfortunately.
I tried snowbreeze 2.0.2 but I keep getting different errors. 1600, 1609, 2009, 1604 and end up restarting with blackra1n again... xD
dunno what to do, any help please?

How come you don't have shsh file with Cydia. Did you press Yes to make my life easier, if you did, you already have atleast 3.1.3 , 4.0 and 4.0.1 shsh blogs , only if at the time when you click make my life easier when Apple was still signing 3.1.3, then you will have all of those from 3.1.3 onwards.
You should use tiny umbrella and see if you can grab whatever shsh blogs from Cydia not from Apple.

Yes you'll definitely need those SHSHs or else you'll be forced up to 4.1. So check for those SHSHs like Yeow said in TinyUmbrella or you're stuck with your tethered JB for a while longer.

If it says in Snowbreeze on your iphone, then all you need to do is restore to snowbreeze 4.1 ipsw. You don't need to do any more preparation.

The whole process of restoring shouldn't take more than 5 to 10 minutes, Try putting your iphone into recovery mode and then restore to custom firmware of 4.1

Is your iphone already jailbroken before restoring to custom firmware?
When you put it in recovery mode, did you see Steve Job's face.
