Default Signal bar drops on IOS 4.1 unlocked with Ultrasn0w.

When I am at IOS 4.0 3GS unlocked with Ultrasn0w, i get full signal bars, but when I am at IOS 4.1 , unlocked with Ultrasn0w, the signal drops to 3 bars. Has anyone noticed it and with same baseband.

I think 4.0.1 was an update that changed the way signal is displayed with the bars, to show a "true" reading. So 4.1 will have this too, which is why you noticed it since it wasn't there on 4.0. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You're right on. It's the signal reporting that changed, not the signal itself. So yeow, you have the same signal now as you did before. If you want to test it yourself, use sbsettings to display the signal strength as numeric instead of graphical bars.

All apple did was make it so that the phone would get signal when there is barely service in 4.0.1

Thank you Dhamien & Shanjoe : The signal bars now shows 2 or 3 bars, but numeric shows -95 to -101, hmmm wondering what minus means.

Not sure how it works, but as far as I know, the phone will work all the way down to -120. The best I've seen on my phone is -55'ish, though only as short spikes and the average is -85 to -95.

Arh, I feel more relieved now as you have the same signal reception as mine. I will get higher reception once i stepped out of the house...
